“The new sanctions are different from CATSA sanctions (the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act) which are in effect against IRGC,” said Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani, Iranian Judiciary Chief, on Monday, in Tehran.
“Currently, US congress has turned into an automated machine of passing sanctions against Iran,” added the Iranian senior official. “They have the illusion that with such measures, they can put the Iranian nation under pressure. This is while they have been practicing this threadbare and futile acts for over thirty years and know that wherever they have stirred up more animosity against the Iranians, our people have got more solidified,” highlighted the Iranian official.
The judiciary chief held that CATSA sanctions against IRGC means laying sanctions against the armed forces of an independent country and the same excuse can be used to lay embargo on government for cooperating with the armed forces.
“The IRGC is an official military body of our country which has defended our country at different stages, and because they have defused the nefarious plots of internal and foreign enemies repeatedly, Americans hold grudge against it,” reiterated Ayatollah Larijani.
“So long as the enemies find our economy as our Achilles’ hill, they will not ease their pressures,” stated the Iranian official.
The official also referred to the latest report of Asma Jahangir against Iran saying that the report contains repeated accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“In this report, we see those people who have been arrested and trialed for espionage charges, or the MKO members who are implicated in broad terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians are supported and defended,” highlighted the top judiciary of Iran. “False accusations which were made about hangings in Iran are either about hangings which have never taken place or about the capital punishment for homicide committers,” he said.
